How To Turn Your Jeans Into A Skirt

For this you need :

Materials :

Jeans
Seam ripper
Pins
Ruler
Marker
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and heavy duty thread.

Intructions :

1.Using the seam ripper, open the inside leg seams upward, starting at the cuff. Go up to the bottom of the zipper in the front, and up to the yoke ( where the pockets end) in the back. Stitch down overlapping flaps in fron and then in back.

2. Lay jean flat, forming an A-line shape. Measure down twenty-three inches from waist and mark. Use this mark to draw a horizontal line across each leg.
Tip: Measure twenty inches from waist fro a miniskirt version.

3. Cut legs at lines. You'll have two rectangualr panels that will be used for inserts.

4. Place a panel over front opening of skirt, then cut it to create a triangle, adding 1/2 inch seam allowance. Cut off excess denim. Pin the panel onto front of skirt. Repeat for the back.

5. Sew triangles onto skirt.

6. Fold under 1/2 inch hem, stitch, and voila! Your new skirt!
Tip: For a low-waist fit, cut waistband off. Customize your new skirt with patches or sequins.
