2. Simple Stamped Walls - Take a little bit of plain wall and have some fun with it. Sponged-on paint designs let you personalize your space with a minimum of time and effort. It's an idea that depends more on your creativity and skillful execution than on expensive materials. Have fun!

Make your mark on underused wall space with sponged-on paint designs you design yourself.

For making simple stamped walls we need:

1.Scissors

2.Sponge daubers (available at crafts stores)

3.A fine-tip marker

4.Scrap of cardboard

5.2 colors of wall paint or acrylic crafts paint

6.Disposable plate

Instructions:

1. Prepare the sponges. Draw the desired shape on the sponge with the fine-tip marker. Then carefully snip around your design with scissors. After cutting, simply pull pieces of sponge out with your fingers to create the negative space on the stamp.

Flower pattern: Cut a large sponge dauber into petal shapes. Use a smaller sponge for the center.

Polka-dot pattern: Use 2 sponges the same size. Cut out the center of one, leaving a ring.

2. Practice your design. Pour some paint onto the disposable plate. Dab your sponge in the paint and experiment on a scrap of cardboard to learn how much paint you'll need to apply your pattern.

3. Apply pattern to wall. Don't worry about measuring where you'll place the stamps or about perfectly aligned layers, rough edges and uneven spacing add visual interest to this type of design.

Flower pattern: Stamp the petals first, then the center.

Polka-dot pattern: Stamp a darker color with the uncut sponge then stamp the ring on top in a lighter shade.
