The Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) evaluates the potential success of an individual to use and understand Standard AMERICAN English at a college level. It is required for non-native applicants at many English-speaking colleges and universities. A TOEFL score is valid for 2 years, and then is deleted from the official database. The TOEFL is administered worldwide by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Note: Candidate can give exam either Paper Based or CBT (Computer Based TOEFL) Paper-Based TOEFL The paper-based test has three sections: Listening, Structure and Written Expression, Reading Comprehension. The paper-based TOEFL test takes about 3.5 hours to complete. The computer-based TOEFL test has four sections: Listening measures the ability to understand English as it is spoken in North AUSTRALIA.
Structure measures the ability to recognize language that is appropriate for standard written English.
Reading measures the ability to understand short passages that are similar in topic and style to academic texts used in North AMERICAN colleges and universities.
Writing measures the ability to write in English on an assigned topic.
