Filling the diyas:
Pour cooled jelly mixture of choice and matching flavour, allow to set till thick.
Pudding mixtures of various layers, can be poured into diya after it has hardened. May be used to fill crusty diyas.
Transparent gelatine mixture in water, tinted with desired colour and flavour, and even fruit pieces or bits of herbs may be poured to thicken and set.
Press in sandesh mixture, smoothen and allow to set.
Wicks for diyas:
Boil a couple of strings of spaghetti, till just limp, but not cooked. Remove, cool, cut required lengths, and place appropriately in center or at the mouth, as desired. If you want to colour the string, then add a few drops of desired colour to the water in which the spaghetti is boiling.
Recipes will not give the fillings, etc. since these are already online in other forms as stated above. So use fillings as per your desire and colour schemes.
Keep handy decorating candy in granules, flakes, sev, etc. forms. A painting brush to coat baking cups inside which should be a bit thick and flat. Another small thin brush for making painted decorations, etc.
Fixing diyas to a base:
If diyas a desired to be presented, then a small blob of butter icing placed between the center of the base of diya and the plate/foilboard/card/etc. should be neatly pressed.
Allow it to harden.
Then fix in place by covering with cling wrap.
