From the time we are born, we store away
all we learn in the recesses of our brain
every so often we think about it with awe
for all the info we have amassed.
Most of us take it for granted ,but I think
writers become more aware of the thought
process, and have greater respect for it.
One day while meditating I pondered all this
and was overwhelmed by a flash like a video
in fast forward that showed millions of thoughts
like specks of light that sparkled like gems, stored
in our memory bank.
Then the real fun began, somehow I was seeing
words floating in my mind and thinking of how
we learn words, through all of our senses.
We don't learn words just by sight and sound, we
also smell, touch, and taste, them. Think of coffee or
other foods, and you'll agree. If you really love
words (as I do) you even use all of your senses
on words such as love, dream, passion, and harsh
words such as hate.
The topic is fascinating and needs to be contemplated
especially when you think of how most of our learning
comes from outside of us, but there is much to learn
from the inside, those things we intuit, most of which
has to do with spirituality.
I have found that people who believe in God as Creator
and Savior get the best of their spirituality from within,
because what's within is placed there by the Holy Spirit
when one becomes a believer, and what one learns is
measured by how in-depth our relationship with God is,
and how much time we give to it, also by how much
Creator wants us to know.
Of course non-believers will disagree, since they
have never tapped into the spiritual treasure that
lies within.They can't have an understanding of what
they are missing if they never had it. It's like asking
someone to know what being in a black hole in space
is like, if they've never been there.
I know many non-believers who are brilliant writers
and in no way, am I suggesting that you have to be a
believer to write well or be successful. In this instance
I'm speaking only of how believers, can come closer to
their spiritual goals, by what they learn from within,
rather than what they learn from without.
To all writers, I implore you to take a closer look at
what you have learned about words and the thought
process, about how you form thoughts and beliefs in
your mind and how it influences the way you think,
therefore the way you live.It can be an awesome and
enlightening journey within if you choose to take it!
