Aey khuda, bahut bada hai jahan tera

is jahan mai koi nahi hai mera;

kehne ko to tune sabh kuch diya,

aur kahe to kuch bhi nahi hai mera;

Mahobbat ko mahobbat ki tarah na pa sake

mahobbat ko ibbaadat keh khuda tujhe maan liya;

dil se dil mil to na saky

tere kadmo mai dil ko kurbaan kar diya;

Aey mehboob mere yeh zulm na kar

yun nazro kay teer se dil pe vaar na kar;

yeh dil tumhe har pal duaien deta hai

thoda soch kar is dil par reham kar;
