My Brave Battalion of Thirty Two !
Here is a dirge dedicated to the wisest of all of you.
Incisors eight that hacked and bit the toughest of the tough
Molars a dozen that gnawed and chewed the foodstuff
Canines four that tore and split the edible
Premolars eight that crushed and ground even the incredible.
They were my winsome warriors, hungry like a hound
The Incisors did pounce and the Premolars did pound
The Canines cracked and bade the Molars to munch
Together they won many a war with a potent punch
They were the Architects of my face who gave it its contour
They gave me that well set winning smile to allure
I treated them with chips and chocolate, toffees sweet and sour
Hardly did I realize that the treat marred my army's power
Oh, how my army squirmed in pain and made me weak!
My adding years widened the gorges and made them meek
Like a pampering parent feels the shame to see his spoilt brat
I suffered in silence to see my battalion's defeat so flat
The villains let the bugs creep in and dug many a trench
Gave me sleepless nights and filled my breath with a stench
I longed for my wisdom tooth who would tell me what is right
He just peeped out doors but the gums barred him tight
The despaired dentist sighed in fruitless frustration
Used tangy Tooth pastes and mouth wash of multi fashion
His efforts failed to get my Wisdom Tooth sane out of His crust
And my Hero breathed His last before He breathed His first
While the priest within makes preparations for His last ritual
I swear to attend with firm love my warriors residual
Now I am here, waiting in grief to bereave His demise
My salutations to thee, My unseen Warrior Wise!
