UNENDING DREAM
Posted by : Tanay Kumar Das on 21-Mar-2006 Total Views : 162

I'm lying in your arms
We were staring at the sky
I kiss your precious lips
We were gazing into each others eyes
I'm speaking small words
We whisper I love you
We were embracing each other
As we fall asleep in pure bliss
And as I wake I realize
I want to go back to sleep
Because it was only a dream
And I'd rather be with you there
Then without you in reality.
And I'm asking myself
Why Do dreams lie?
Maybe that's why they are just called

THANKS GIVING DAY
Posted by : Tanay Kumar Das on 21-Mar-2006 Total Views : 185

Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
but I just couldn't sleep,
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned--
the dark meat and white,
but I fought the temptation
with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen,
flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge,
full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
floated into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding
and a handful of pie
I managed to yell
as I soared past the trees.......
happy eating to all---
pass the cranberries, please! --------------

HOLDING ON TO NOTHING
Posted by : Tanay Kumar Das on 18-Mar-2006 Total Views : 148

My heart aches when i think of our memories
because then i had you and you had me
It's when the heart gives but does not receive
that it hurts the most
I live for the times you still kiss me
even if it means nothing to you
For that short period of time
i can pretend you are once again mine
And i'll replay that kiss again and again
until you are more than just a friend
and until our lips again meet
And my heart will then continue to beat
It's those moments i feel like we are together again that i am happy
It's this feeling I crave that i've only felt with you
A love that is real a love that is true
you had me at hello
And still do at goodbye
But why my heart needs you, i have'nt a clue why

PRESENT
Posted by : Sumeet on 24-Feb-2006 Total Views : 255

Present so ruefully drowned
By the past taking precedence;
The beauty of today to behold
Lost by thoughts of future – making no sense

The present so ever-encompassing
To be felt and touched by the soul;
Cos today is the day you live for
To lead a life more whole

The present so heavenly felt
If lived one day at a time;
Dreading not past or future
To enjoy life at it’s prime

Present is bliss- present is today
To be embraced with gay abandon;
To live in the present – today
Bringing you close to GOD’s kingdom

A Golden Globe
Posted by : Komal on 24-Sep-2005 Total Views : 198

The sun in the valley
Seems as a golden globe,
Through the window, he enters
And put down a kiss on my sleepy eyes.
It it sweet to be awake
By the sun
After its long journey.
Here he comes out again
With in his suitcase:
The spring of my 18 years
And the summer of our love.

Coming Home
Posted by : Sumeet Mahanti on 12-Dec-2005 Total Views : 239

As I set back home
for my motherland-
that nurtured my childhood,
memories flooding into my mind
of the happy home where I once stood

Long seen home-land still afresh
with the fragrance of dust and mud,
the sight of cattle salvaging the greenery
the wailing of babies – tender as a flower bud

Coming home to the beckon of love
-the mystic abode bedecked with ornate glory,
of the roses and lilies in full bloom-
strewn on the path-leading to my home

Alas- expectant eyes that long awaited
Envisioning the homecoming of a son,
I realise – are but part of a far-blurred vision
straining for a glimpse from above- far away from humandom
