Thank You For The Generous GiftPosted by : Arti Agarwal on 06-Nov-2005 Total Views : 188 Thank you for your generous gift,
Hard earned and easy spent!
Although consumption may be swift,
No time can dull intent.
Know that we well know that you
Your love have tendered so.
Our love we then tender, too,
Untold thanks in tow.

Velentine For LoversPosted by : Arti Agarwal on 02-Nov-2005 Total Views : 289 Valentine's for lovers and for friends.
All my love goes out to you this day!
Love is something different from desire:
Even, silent, peaceful as the sky.
Nor is love interested in means or ends.
There are no selfish needs that it must weigh.
Instead, love's plenitude itself inspires,
Needing neither cause nor reason why.
Each day my thoughts enchanted with you lie.

THE SECOND SUNPosted by : Alok Verma on 22-Oct-2005 Total Views : 282 One day at once the Sun rose
No, not from the horizon, but from the mid city
Sunbeams had fallen
No, not from the sky, but from the burst Earth
The shadow of Humans became directionless and spread everywhere
It was fact that the Sun had not risen from the east that day
It was thrown from the flying Machine in the center of the city and spread its kingdom everywhere
As if the spokes from the wheel of hell were spreading
That Sunrise and Sunset of a little while was such a hot period
That it dried that afternoon too
The shadow of Humans were not lucky to lay long on the Mother Earth
People on the whole steamed away
From the burning day Zone
That shadows could still be found on the horrified stones
Who witnessed the day?
The Sun created by Man
Just steamed the man away.
Note: This poem is composed on the nuclear attacks at Japan in World War-2 by America.

Mumbai After 26 June DelugePosted by : Mahendra B Khilari on 22-Oct-2005 Total Views : 209 Hey Mumbai tere bandhe hum,
Yeh kaise kyun hum-par situm,
Na railways chale, na BEST chale,
Paidal chalte huwe nikle dum.
Hey Mumbai------------------
Waise office-se jaldi nikle hum,
Jamke station-thak badhaaye kadam,
Hum khade the magar, gaadi ki na khabar,
Toota ummeed-ka papaddum.
Aake baahar jab pheri nazar,
Dekha Bambai bana tha gutter,
Na auto chale aur na taxi rukhe,
Ab kaise karenge safar.
Hey Mumbai------------------
Hua baarishse yun saamna,
Na kahin bijali, koi phone na,
MTNL kho gaya, Ambani bhi so gaya,
Andheremein hamein chod diya,
Cell-phone bhi kare gadbadam,
Yeh kaisa bada sankatam,
Bhejemein fikr aur kuch na clear,
Bheegke tan man hua bahut naram.
Hey Mumbai------------------
Thoda rukhke maine saans li,
Yaad aane laga family,
Biwi tum ho kidhar, bachhee hain kya udhar,
Ya kahin phas jaayenge raat-bhar,
Ab kaise karenge aur sabr,
Kare koi na aisa suffer,
Mere dilmein fear, aankhonmein tear,
Tension chadne laga ekdum.
Hey Mumbai------------------
Chal pada public-ka caravan,
Girnewalonko kiya saavdhaan,
Hum chalte rahe, saath bhadte rahe,
Door manzil, kadi imtihan.
Man-holes bhi khule the idhar-udhar,
Upar thunder, neeche bhi no cover,
Drainage-ke tale khaddepe gire,
BMC bhi bada be-sharam.
Hey Mumbai------------------
Yeh meteorology jaaye bhaadmein,
Saara metro duba paanimein,
Koi Shanghai kahe, future Hong-Kong kahe,
Yaaron unko hum paagal kahe,
Yeh hota hai year after year,
Kab sudhrega apna shahar,
Na Government sune, na bhagwan sune,
Rothe thairthe aa pahuncha main ghar.
Hey Mumbai tere bandhe hum!

Bad Concert!Posted by : Ripudaman Saini on 19-Oct-2005 Total Views : 145 Band concert public square Nebraska city. Flowing and circling dresses, summer-white dresses. Faces, flesh tints flung like sprays of cherry blossoms. And gigglers, God knows, gigglers, rivaling the pony whinnies of the Livery Stable Blues.
Cowboy rags and nigger rags. And boys driving sorrel horses hurl a cornfield laughter at the girls in dresses, summer-white dresses. Amid the cornet staccato and the tuba oompa, gigglers, God knows, gigglers daffy with life’s razzle dazzle.
Slow good-night melodies and Home Sweet Home. And the snare drummer bookkeeper in a hardware store nods hello to the daughter of a railroad conductor—a giggler, God knows, a giggler—and the summer-white dresses filter fanwise out of the public square.
The crushed strawberries of ice cream soda places, the night wind in cottonwoods and willows, the lattice shadows of doorsteps and porches, these know more of the story.

A Christmas Ghost Story.Posted by : Ripudaman Saini on 19-Oct-2005 Total Views : 128 South of the Line, inland from far Durban,
A mouldering soldier lies--your countryman.
Awry and doubled up are his gray bones,
And on the breeze his puzzled phantom moans
Nightly to clear Canopus: "I would know
By whom and when the All-Earth-gladdening Law
Of Peace, brought in by that Man Crucified,
Was ruled to be inept, and set aside?
And what of logic or of truth appears
In tacking 'Anno Domini' to the years?
Near twenty-hundred livened thus have hied,
But tarries yet the Cause for which He died."
By whom and when the All-Earth-gladdening Law
Of Peace, brought in by that Man Crucified,
Was ruled to be inept, and set aside?
And what of logic or of truth appears
In tacking 'Anno Domini' to the years?
Near twenty-hundred livened thus have hied,
But tarries yet the Cause for which He died
