Pass Over Me , Dear Lord
Posted by : Arti Agarwal on 08-Nov-2005 Total Views : 264

Pass over me, dear Lord, please pass me by.
Attend not to the fortune of my fate.
Spare me not, nor crush me. Let me be
Servant only to my willing heart.
Open not your gates, nor oceans part.
Vest not laws and covenants in me.
Each soul must choose the valor of its state:
Return to myth that I might truly die.

Peace Is Not The Product Of Despair
Posted by : Arti Agarwal on 08-Nov-2005 Total Views : 278

Peace is not the product of despair.
An army's most invincible least used.
Strength engenders weakness when abused,
Serving best by merely being there.
One conquers in the end by being just,
Vanquishing the conscience with the right.
Each child that's passed over in the night
Restores just one-half bullet's worth of trust.

FOR THE READER .....
Posted by : Sarbjeet Singh on 07-Nov-2005 Total Views : 223

Listen to the poem
as it sings its song
of unbridled love for the reader
Hey there
You with the poem in your eyes
Can't you see
how I miss you?
Every day my heart goes out
into the world searching for you
I mean the real you
& not the descriptions I have
of you in my head

When you touch me
all the angels in my body
break into song
When you leave the music dies
My heart is crying only
to be pointed in your direction
I sense the light of love in your eyes
& disappear into anything
you happen to be looking at
Without you
I'm an empty flame
with nothing to burn
I want only you to read me

Hell is where we come apart
& squeeze out a few desperate lines
I don't rely on threats
to keep me going
I just keep you in mind
I may only be as clear as you make me
but no matter how hard you look
I can't be a mirror
if you don't see yourself
No poem can live without a reader
& I can't last a moment without you
calling me back to life

Twas The Night Before Baghdad ..
Posted by : Sarbjeet Singh on 07-Nov-2005 Total Views : 209

Twas the night before Baghdad
And all through the base
Not a heartbeat was silent
Not a smile on one face

The soldiers at attention
Fists raised in the air
Saddam is a monster!
We must all go there!

So we loaded our planes
With our guns and our tanks
And we sent all the soldiers
To Kuwaits outer banks

From Kuwait, from Turkey
From Saudi and more
With battering rams
We knocked on his door

The Fedayin heard
All the military clatter
And ran to Saddam
To ask what was the matter

Don't worry he said
With a heartening ring
They financed my reign
They won't do this thing

We bombed all the buildings
Til the fires were glowing
While Baby Bush yelled
Keep the oil pipes flowing!

He should be a magician
Our Baby Bush, cuz you see
He created the biggest illusion
The WMD's

He lied to us all
About terror and pain
When all that he's after
Is monetary gain

For Daddy, and Barbara
And Baby Bush too
There is no such thing
As too much oil revenue

Some people believe
That it's for our own good
To bomb and to kill
To shed innocent blood

They sleep in their beds
Oblivious to lies
While we who have wakened
Hear bloodcurdling cries

Cries of our fathers,
Our brothers and sons
Sent to fight in a war
That cannot be won

We liberated them!
Our Baby Bush chimes
That is why they attack us
Time after time

With Christmas upon us
He steps up his work
Of campaigning again
The self serving jerk!

He'll don his flight suit
He'll have all his fun
Wishing Merry Christmas! Keep fighting!
And to all....Duck and Run!

Shrimati Ki Neend
Posted by : Rajeev Kumar on 03-Nov-2005 Total Views : 401

Sam ko jab office se baps Aaya,
sone ee mast beebi ko Jgaya,

Unhone karbat Badali to Pairon Ke Ghunghru Baj Gaye,
Ghunghru Ki Abaz Sun Kar Ham Bahin Ruk Gaye,

Chand Samay Paschat Hamne Unki Ungri Hilai,
Mchchhar Samajh Kar Mere Gal Per Thappar Jamai,

Dharmpatni Ke Pujari The, Ham Kuch Na Kah Sake The,
Kiyon Ki Wo Hamse Chhoti Thi Ham Panch Sal Bade The,

Ek Din Saptah Ke Beech me Budhbar Ka Din Aaya,
Srimati Ne T.V.Kholi Aur Chitrahar Aaya,

Chitrahar Khatm Hua Srimati Ji Ko Neend Aa Gai,
Bechain Tha Bhoonkh Se Lekin Mujhe Ek Geet Ki Yad Aa Gai,

Bachchon Ke Beech Baitha Ghanti Hila Raha Hoon,Yahi Gunguna Diya,
Sote Me Unhen Aabaj Kam Lagi, Voliom Ke Dhoke Mera Kan Ghuma Diya,

Maine Pahle Chillaya Fir Bad Me Ro Diya,
Unhone Galti Ko Sori Kahkar Tal Diya,

Ek Bar Unhen Dhamkaya Aur Doosari Sadi Ka Dhong Rachya,
Wo Aaj Tak Bilkul Line Per Hain Unhen Itna Sadi Se Darbaya,

Sabse Bari Kami Nari Ki Rajeev Ne Hai Jani,
Sudh-Vishudh Nari Kasi Ho Sautan Se Ghabrani,

He Never Expected Much
Posted by : Ripudaman Saini on 19-Oct-2005 Total Views : 269

Well, World, you have kept faith with me,
Kept faith with me;
Upon the whole you have proved to be
Much as you said you were.
Since as a child I used to lie
Upon the leaze and watch the sky,
Never, I own, expected I
That life would all be fair.

'Twas then you said, and since have said,
Times since have said,
In that mysterious voice you shed
From clouds and hills around:
"Many have loved me desperately,
Many with smooth serenity,
While some have shown contempt of me
Till they dropped underground.

"I do not promise overmuch,
Child; overmuch;
Just neutral-tinted haps and such,"
You said to minds like mine.
Wise warning for your credit's sake!
Which I for one failed not to take,
And hence could stem such strain and ache
As each year might assign.

Many with smooth serenity,
While some have shown contempt of me
Till they dropped underground.
