Anil Kumble took 10 wickets in an innings of a test match, equaling the record set by J. Laker for maximum wickets in an innings. This is the first time such a feat has been achieved by an Indian bowler. Kumble reduced the Pakistan team's batting order to ashes as he took 10 wickets for 74 runs. India won the Historic test against Pakistan at Delhi by 212 runs.
Anil Kumble became the 2nd Indian to take 200 wickets in ODIs and the 7th bowler ever to do so, when he bowled Gary Brent for duck.

Rahul Dravid became only the 3rd Indian to score centuries in both innings of a Test match, when he scored 190 & 103* in the 3rd Test against New Zealand.
