Full name of Chaminda Vaas is "Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas". Chaminda Vaas was born on Jan. 27, 1974 at Mattumagala in Sri Lanka.

Test Debut

Chaminda Vaas made his test debut in Aug. 26-28, 1994 against Pakistan at Kandy.

ODI Debut

Chaminda Vaas made his ODI debut against India at Rajkot on Feb. 15, 1994.

Turning Point

In 2004, Chaminda Vaas took four wickets to help Sri Lanka win by 20 runs against New Zealand.

Achievements and World Records

•	In 2004, he was selected for the World Test and one-day XI at the inaugural ICC Awards.
•	He was once again selected for the World Test XI at the 2005 awards.
•	Chaminda Vaas is one of only a handful of players to take over 300 ODI wickets
•	In the 2003 World Cup, against Bangladesh, he claimed a hat-trick with the first three balls.
•	In Sri Lanka Chaminda Vaas is the only cricketers who have taken two ODI hat-tricks.

At present Chaminda Vaas is the member of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team.
