Jonathan Neil Rhodes was born on July 27, 1969, in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. He was known as "Jonty Rhodes". He was especially noted for his feats whilst fielding.
He is one of the best fielders in cricket history, and also known for his quick running between the wickets.

In 1993, Jonty Rhodes took a world record for most dismissals by a fielder other than a wicketkeeper against the West Indies at Brabourne Stadium. He took five catches, Three of them were spectacular. |

He is regarded by many people in cricket to be one of the best fielders. Sachin Tendulkar once admitted "with Jonty in the field it feels that South Africa is fielding with "15 players". |
