Sangakkara is a left hand batsman, batting in the No. 3 position, who learnt to become a wicket-keeper and has subsequently become a specialist wicketkeeper also. His wicket keeping has improved to such an extent that he is now considered, by the LG ICC Test ratings, the best current wicket-keeping batsman.
