PERSONAL PROFILE
I started my medical career at Govt Medical College, Patiala where I completed my MBBS and was adjudged the second best graduate with several awards and distinctions (Medals for Physiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, ENT, Gynecology). I moved on to pursue Internal Medicine at the reputed SMS Medical College, Jaipur and completed my MD in Medicine in 2003. After a brief stint as Senior Medical Officer at Fortis Heart, Mohali, I was selected for DM Endocrinology at AIIMS, New Delhi.
During my training in Endocrinology at the nations premier medical institute, I had an opportunity to have a vast experience in management of difficult and challenging hormonal disorders and actively participated in many national and international conferences. I am an active member of the Endocrine Society of India, Indian Thyroid Society, Asia Pacific Pediatric Endocrine Society and the Indian Society of Bone Mineral Research. I have been awarded the Prof MMS Ahuja Award for the Best DM Student in Endocrinology at the 36th Annual Convocation at AIIMS.
I was selected for special training in Pediatric Endocrinology at the APPES Fellow’s Course in Thailand and have several publications in international journals. My research work included studies on use of insulin in early stages of type 2 diabetes, vitamin D deficiency in hyperparathyroidism and the use of sibutramine in obesity management.
