I completed my MBBS from Gauhati University in 1991. Did my post graduation in ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya,(Chennai) followed by Cornea fellowship at the same institute. I am a fellow of the royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh (UK). I also completed my Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1998.

I was a consultant at Sankara Nethralaya, between 1998 to April 2005 (Awarded the TLK RAO memorial award for the best consultant). I was the first person to introduce LASIK treatment in Sri Lanka, while working as a consultant at Apollo Hospitals in Colombo 2002 - 2003. Currently I practice as a senior consultant ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. We have the latest of all diagnostic & other equipments to provide you the best in eye care. I am proud to be one of the few surgeons in the world, and in fact the first surgeon in India to perform Corneal endothelial transplantation surgery (Deep Lamellar Endothelial Keratoplasty). This is a new revolutionary method of corneal replacement surgery without the need for surface incisions or stitches, unlike conventional corneal grafting surgery.

I have over 100 publications and presentations - both at international and national forums and journals. I am a member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, International Ocular Surface Society, All India Ophthalmic Society, Andhra Pradesh Ophthalmic Society & Eye Bank Association of India. I am also a reviewer for several peer reviewed ophthalmic journals, such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, and Ophthalmology.

I specialize in refractive cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) ensuring perfect unaided vision following the cataract surgery, customized laser refractive surgery (LASIK), phakic intraocular lens implantation, ocular surface reconstruction, corneal transplantation, anterior and posterior lamellar corneal surgery, pterygium surgery, & dry eye management.
