Dimapur
Dimapur District was upgraded from Sub-division to full fledged District in December 1997. The district consist of Dimapur and Niuland sub-divisions, bifurcated from Kohima. The proposed headquarters for the District is at Chumukedima.

Kohima
Kohima the capital city of Nagaland is a picturesque hill station surrounded by green hills and mountains. It lies in the southern part of Nagaland, covering an area of 1041 sq.kms.

Mon
The District of Mon, which covers an area of 1786 Sq.km., It is bounded on the north by Sibsagar District of Assam, on the south by Tuensang District of Nagaland and Myanmar (Burma), on the east by Myanmar (Burma) and on the west by Tuensang and Mokokchung Districts of Nagaland.

Phek
Phek is a district in the southeastern part of Nagaland, bounded by Myanmar in the east, Zunheboto and Tuensang districts in the north, Manipur state in the south and Kohima district in the west. Phek is derived from the word "Phekrekedze" meaning watch tower.

Tuesang
Tuensang is one of the eight districts of Nagaland. It lies in the easternmost part of Nagaland, and is named after the village which is situated closed by the district headquarter.

Wokha is the district headquarters of the Lothas. It is equidistant at 80 Km both from Kohima as well as Mokokchung. It is 58 Km from Furkating Railway Station (Assam).

Zunheboto
Zunheboto derived its name from two sets of words "Zunhebo" and "To" in Sumi dialect. Zunhebo is the name of a flowering shurb with white leaves which bear sponge like ears containing sweet juice and "To" means the top of a hill.

One of the districts in Nagaland, the home of the Ao Naga tribe. It covers an area of 1,615 sq km.
