Movie Report
Kabul Express is the story of war ravaged Afghanistan, its people and their culture. It gives an insight of that Afghanistan which is beautiful and troubled at the same time. The ground realities of Afghanistan have been depicted through the journey of five main characters i.e. Two Indian Journalists, An American Photojournalist, One Afghan and One Pakistani. The Afghan Landscape dominates the screen as the entire movie has been shot in Kabul.
Suhel Khan (John Abraham) and Jai Kapoor (Arshad Warsi) are two T.V. journalists who have been sent to Kabul. Their mission is to get an exclusive interview with the last of the Talibans whose existence is under threat from the americans after the 9/11 attacks. Upon arriving they meet Afghan driver and guide Khyber (Hanif Humghum) who not only accompanies them in their mission but also acts as their translator. Soon they are joined by Jane Beckham (Linda Arsenio), a photojournalist from New York who turns out to their competitor as she herself has come here for the same purpose.
This is the least of their problems as Imran Khan Afridi (Salman Shahid) seizes their vehicle. Imran is a Pakistani Turned Taliban who wants to cross border and reach his homeland Pakistan. He demands a safe passage to Pakistan from them as they are journalists and he can cross the border easily pretending to be a local guide.
During their journey towards the Pakistani border Imran reveals about his glorious past when he belonged to an Elite class of the Taliban. Now he is despised by them. His revelation turns out to be a blessing in disguise for Suhel and Jai as this was the material they were looking for their interview.
Kabul Express is Director Kabir Khan’s Debut in Bollywood who is otherwise known for documentaries. Kabul Express is somewhat based on his personal experiences as a documentary film-maker.

Great movie not the usual bollywood unrealistic slush and mush. Thank goodness no songs and women.India should make more films like these. Great acting, witty dialogues, exciting and tragic.

| Neither Good Nor Bad |

A song from Kabul Express, titled ‘Kabul Fiza’, appears to be a deliberate attempt to garner interest in the otherwise Neither Good Nor Bad movie.
As per my knowledge the Original Kabul Express did not have any Songs. What remains to be seen? If I am not wrong, is that will it really work for the movie?

No Heroine, No Songs, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi And not even a Two Hour Movie. Sounds Boring. John Abraham and Arshad Warsi,a Very Unlikely Duo don't have that much of a Crowd Puller Element in them. The subject of the movie are the Unfamous and the Most hated Community of the world i.e Taliban, i think we have seen and heard enough of them on T.V. and Newspapers. Kabir khan, the director has proven a Point that he's Good,Only for making Documentaries. It's very Strange of Producer Aditya Chopra and Yashraj Films to Indulge in such a movie. Sounds like they want to prove that they make, not just Entertainment movies but they also like to make Boring movies as well.
Kabul express is a Sure Shot Flop !
