Money Hai To Honey Hai is a comedy film directed by Ganesh Acharya. This is actually a good looking bad film. There are not so much laughter punches in the film that could make the viewers laugh. This is a film of just six characters who are shown doing varied things.
Money Hai To Honey Hai deals with six characters: Bobby [Govinda] is a happy go lucky guy, who runs away from home to prove himself. Lalabhai [Manoj Bajpayee] becomes wealthy, but he's back on the road as his business fails and he loses all his money. Gaurav [Aftab Shivdasani], a copywriter, is fired from his job. Manik [Upen Patel] is a struggling model who sleeps with a middle-aged fashion designer [Archana Puransingh], hoping to make it big. Ashima [Hansika] is a successful TV star, but she's not happy with her career and is desperate to do films as the lead heroine. Shruti [Celina Jaitley] is a struggling dress designer.
One fine day, they are willed a Rs 1000 crore company by some random maniac who only dreams numbers. However, their happiness does not last long as they are also told that there is a bank loan of Rs 1200 crore they have to repay because the company is in the red and they would be kept under house arrest.
The writer of this film is the biggest culprit. The writing touches a new low with this film. Ganesh Acharya tries to pack in funny sequences, but just two bring a smile - the Archana Puransingh-Upen Patel track and Govinda's encounter with a Vijay Mallya lookalike, who is surrounded by a bevy of beauties.
On the acting front Govinda is not so expressive. Upen Patel is just annoying and does nothing beyond flexing his muscles. Aftab is just a cut paste from his recent flicks. Celina Jaitley tries her hand at being serious with her vision in her character but fails. Manoj Bajpayee does some lame stuff and is totally underused. Kim Sharma, RaviKissan- not required. Prem Chopra bores. Archana Puram Singh is sleazy. Hansikka does a fare job and comes across as a chirpy bubbly character. She does her bit well.
On the whole the movie is just a big bore. The characters are doing varied things in the film. The script is poor. Direction also does not have any impression. The movie will not do much at ticket windows.
