Movie Report
The movie 1920 is directed by the finest director Vikram Bhatt. After his debut horror flick Raaz now once again he has come back with his latest flick 1920. This movie does not have anything unique in terms of storyline but it has some exotic attributes of horror genere which are top notched.
The year is 1920 and the house isolated in the wilderness has a secret. It is waiting for the curse to come true. For years, everyone who has tried to pull it down has died of mysterious circumstances.
Rajneesh and Adahh are lovers who get married. Rajneesh is an architect and he is selected from his company to bring down this old castle in India and build it into a hotel. But there is a spirit that resides there that does not allow this to happen. In fact, two architects have been killed but Rajneesh and his wife are not aware of it. Adah gets possessed by this spirit and then strange and inexplicable events start taking place.
The period look and the castle give the film a distinctive texture. From the writing point of view the love story is well structured and the obstacles the couple face are well depicted. Pravin Bhatt spells his enchanting piece of work right throughout the film. The painted backdrops of beautiful locations of Allerton Castle in London are chilling for eyes while on the other end; he brings you the horrifying feel with unique lighting and camera angles.
On the acting front, both Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma go through their roles confidently. Adah is just excellent. Anjori Alagh looks beautiful and leaves an impression. Indraneel does well. Raj Zutshi is top notch. Vallabh Vyas [doctor] is as usual.
On the whole, this film is very-very scary for most part. Not for the faint-hearted. On that count, Bhatt has succeeded.
