Bad Luck Govind is a film directed by writer-director Varun Khanna. The film has an unusual concept. It has an interesting idea but it fails to catch the crowd of viewers. This film is story of a guy who feels himself unlucky.
Govind (Gaurav Kapoor) has terrible bad luck, which means that even if his shadow falls on somebody, that person is in for trouble. His luck is such that even cows stop producing milk when he walks by a tabela. Even fresh milk instantly curdles when poured into a cup of tea.
A situation in the News Channel where Govind works in New Delhi, results in the anchor going 'live' on national television about her mother-in-law. Govind decides to come to the city of dreams, Mumbai. On the way, he is robbed of his bag and he lands up at a hospital to donate sperms to make a quick buck. There he meets Vishal (Amit Mistry) who gives him shelter in his chawl. Govind confesses his 'problem' to Vishla and he is overheard by one of Kapoor's cronies. There his fortune collides with six madcap underworld 'bhais' [Govind Namdev, Parmeet Sethi, Zakir Hussain, Vrajesh Hirjee, Lalit Mohan Tiwari and Ganesh Yadav] and a nurse [Hrishitaa Bhatt]. Eventually, Govind rediscovers the power of positive. They use him to bring the other gang down.
On the acting front, VJ Gaurav Kapoor is just okay. Hrishitaa Bhatt has done a good job. Parmit Sethi excels in his role. Archana Puran Singh is the best in her cameo. Zakir Hussain gets to show his softer side and he does it with panache. Amit Mistry is impressive.
On the whole, Bad Luck Govind is a film with a good idea presented in a toltally wrong way. The screen play of the flm is terribly lost. At the box-office this film will really have a badluck.
