Movie Report
Siddharth - The Prisoner is a film directed by debutant director Pryas Gupta. The movie by Pryas Gupta tries to deliver the message that when you are unable to achieve something, you should give up because you are enlightened when you give up your desires.
The story of the film is about a writer Siddharth [Rajat Kapoor] who has been in jail for a long time. He gets released from jail. Siddharth writes a book in jail. He has a wife and a son whom, he loves. His wife hates him and claims to get alimony from him. Siddharth plans to publish his book to get money that he will give to his wife.
Siddharth goes to a cybercafe and his briefcase in which he kept only copy of unpublished book gets exchanged with another similar briefcase and he finds that he got a lot of money in the exchanged briefcase that actually belongs to a gangster Aminbhai. The cybercafe manager Mohan [Sachin Nayak] gets threatening messages from the gangster and he runs to places to hide from the goon and to get the briefcase.
Mohan has to now find the briefcase as the mob is after him. Siddharth has stumbled upon a fortune in the bargain losing the only copy of his manuscript. Will Mohan find the booty or will Siddharth start anew with his newfound wealth? ; is rest of the story.
Acting wise, Rajat Kapoor once again has proved himself. Sachin Nayak enacts his part convincingly. Praddip Sagar is Ok. Pradip Kabra is not useful.
On the whole, Siddharth - The Prisoner is totally a conceptual film. The film does not have a good screenplay. This is a below average film.
