Movie Report
About Movie:- Jannat 2 is a sequel to the 2008 film Jannat .Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is playing lead role in Jannat 2. 'Jannat 2' is also a story about a single man's immense desire to make it big in life by any means. Arjun Dixit, the character played by Emraan Hashmi in 'Jannat', was a small time gambler turned into a big shot bookie, while this time, 'Jannat 2' will have illegal arms trading in background.
Known for presenting sexy sirens to the film fraternity, Vishesh Films this time is banking upon the looks of ex Miss India International winner Esha Gupta. She will play the wife of Emraan Hashmi who has a knack for getting seriously intimate with wives on the silver screen, irrespective of the fact that whose wife is it. The music department will be supervised by Pritam Chakraborty who always seems to be in hurry to come up with chart busters. Either Pritam always has enough material in his arsenal or he is simply brilliant at creating instant music.
Movie Review:- In Jannat 2, we have Sonu Dilli KKC (Kutti Kameeni Cheez, played by Emraan) who’s an illegal-gun seller. That’s his philosophy by the way that a gun for everybody is the solution to society’s problems. A lowlife, he tells us how he earns the money and then blows it “chamdi ke chakkar mein” (for skin, meaning prostitutes).
Direction, Dialogues and Music:- If the film suffers, it's because the material's too slim. There just isn't very much here apart from the obvious shades of The Departed, and some over-familiar scenarios of inter-gang rivalry. The film fully exploits its ‘Adult' certification, peppering every scene with colorful Hindi cusswords, but after a while the graphic expletives seem excessive. The soundtrack and the background score of the movie deserve a standing ovation. Emraan Hashmi has done it yet again. He has proved that his presence in a film can do wonders for its music – notwithstanding the place where his movies ultimately end up going to!
Overall :- Overall, Jannat 2 is a decent effort, but somehow is unable to hit the bulls eye. It will please you in bits and pieces.
