Movie Report
About Movie: Shanghai is an upcoming Hindi political thriller film. The film is currently being shot in Maharashtra. Based on the life of Politicians and their greed, it is scheduled for release on January 26, 2012. The film is creating quite a rush among critics and trade analysts. Noted Bollywood critic Dhruv Golani says," The film is highly anticipated. I myself am despeartely waiting for its release.
Movie Review:- Political thrillers are a much abused genre, but it's not frequently that movies confer us with what SHANGHAI offers….The story of Shanghai revolves around the assassination of a political activist (Prosenjit Chatterjee), who is seen opposing an upcoming infrastructure project in Bharat Nagar that is backed by the ruling political party. A young activist encounters a shocking and disturbing road accident which leaves a prominent political figure in critical condition. A lone girl on the street believes it to be a murder.
Direction, Performance and Music:- If we talk about the performance of the stars then every actor has given their best. Emraan impresses with his rustic portrayal, quite different from his usual flamboyant characters. The controversial song “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and the item number “Imported Kamariyaa” are well-picturised and the latter is on the way to become the next favourite numbers at all ‘basti’ celebrations.
Overall:- SHANGHAI is undeniably one of the most politically astute films. Don’t miss this one.
