About Movie:- Baba Dayanand (Naseerddin Shah) runs the Sona Spa. He says - It is necessary to commit crimes in your sleep or else you will commit them when awake.
Good sleep = Good Thinking = Good Life!
A compelling, intriguing, mysterious and a funny tale of sleep told through 2 protagonists (sleep workers), Rucha a billionaire from Mumbai and Ritu, a middle class girl from Pune.
Movie Review:- Sona Spa deals with a topic that’s mostly suffered but seldom discussed in the urban milieu: insomnia. However, sleeplessness isn’t in focus here and nor are the people suffering from it. The emphasis is on the cure - founded by Naseer saab’s Seattle-based baba - in the form of sleep workers. These folks rest on your behalf while you slog away. Of course, it’s a commercial deal. You pay them. They sleep for you.
Direction, Performance and Music:- Finally this film of complicated relationships between waking and dreaming, living and dying, speaking and thinking, seeking and forsaking is a story of a friendship between two girls from different economic classes, one rich and drunk played by Shruti Vyas, the other middleclass and beleaguered by bourgeous problems, played by Ahana Kumrah. Both the actresses lift the theme's inherent improbability to the level of credibility. Naseeruddin Shah's cameo turn as a suave-talking god-man is restricted to a television plug for the spa.
Overall:- Flop Movie.
