Movie Report
About Movie:- A documentary about Earth's most valuable resource, water.
Movie Review:- "Last Call at the Oasis" is a thought-provoking documentary about the scarcity of water and the planet's inability to replenish this precious resource as fast as humans can consume it. While documentaries focused on the destruction of natural resources are often filled with scary statistics and apocalyptic undertones, director Jessica Yu handles the subject matter in an informative and enlightening way. The movie is smart, engaging and beautifully shot.
Direction, Performance and Music:- Last Call at the Oasis is a Participant Production, and its determined US-centricity seems both calculated and closed-off. The film offers some hope in the form of reclaimed water, the most economically and environmentally sound means of slowing our water consumption.
Overall:- Both an informative bit of agitprop and an ultra slick and slightly self-satisfied bit of entertainment.
