Movie Report
About Movie: - Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is an upcoming Romantic comedy. Set around an incoming asteroid threatening to end life on Earth. Steve Carell stars as a man whose wife leaves him amidst the ensuing panic, prompting him to seek out his high school sweetheart, who yearns to be with him when doomsday arrives. Keira Knightly plays the female lead, a neighbor of Carell's character who accompanies him on a romantic road trip to find her.
Movie Review:- The movie begins right where a flick like Armageddon ends except without the bullshit we rescued the planet by sacrificing Bruce Willis" thing. The Earth is about to be pulverized by a 70-mile-wide meteor, and all efforts by scientists and heroes to stop it have ended in failure. We meet wistful, directionless Dodge as he sits in a car with his wife, listening to the radio announcement that the Earth will be destroyed in three weeks.
Direction, Performance and Music:- Director Lorene Scafaria would undoubtedly tell you that it's really about the main characters and their humanity, and this is where the movie's lacking. A patently obvious and sentimental "surprise" falls flat. Carell and Knightley work hard to bring life and truth to each stage of a dawning friendship. The soundtrack includes forgotten oldies by Herb Alpert and the Walker Brothers, songs you love to listen to but would never admit it.
Overall:- Good Movie.
