Movie Report
About Movie:- People Like Us (formerly Welcome to People) is an upcoming drama Movie. It tells the story of a struggling man (Chris Pine) who, after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father. Against his wishes, Sam is called home, where he must put his father's estate in order and reconnect with his estranged family. In the course of fulfilling his father's last wishes, Sam uncovers a startling secret that turns his entire world upside down: He has a 30-year-old sister Frankie whom he never knew about (Elizabeth Banks). As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about this family—and re-examine his own life choices in the process.
Movie Review:- The story follows a young man named Sam (Pine) who begrudgingly travels back home to Los Angeles with his girlfriend, Hannah, following the death of his father. After purposefully missing the funeral - which earns him plenty of scorn from his mother, Lillian – Sam learns from his dad's lawyer that he has a secret sister named Frankie (Banks) and is given $150,000 to support both her and her son.
Direction, Performance and Music:- The performances, especially Ms. Banks’s Frankie and Ms. Pfeiffer’s Lillian, partly compensate for the holes in a story whose timing is hard to swallow. Both Frankie and Lillian are casualties of Hollywood rock ’n’ roll life. Frankie had hopes of being the next Joni Mitchell.
Overall:- Time Pass Movie.
