Gangster Squad
Movie Report
About Movie:- Gangster Squad is an upcoming Crime Drama Movie. A chronicle of the Los Angeles Police Department's fight to keep East Coast Mafia out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 1950s. Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.
Additional Notes:- Based on the Los Angeles Times' seven-part series "Tales From the Gangster Squad" by Paul Lieberman.
Movie Review:- Gangster Squad is based on the real-life exploits of Brooklyn-born and Los Angeles-based crime boss Mickey Cohen (played here by Sean Penn). In the late 1940s.
A chronicle set in the 1940s about the LAPD's special unit set up to keep the East Coast Mafia, led by Micky Cohen, out of Los Angeles. Based on Paul Lieberman's seven-part Los Angeles Times article and subsequent book, "Tales of the Gangster Squad."
Direction, Performance and Music:- Bryan Cranston performance is too good. Cast is AMAZING. Sean Penn as a gangster. Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin as cops.
