About Movie

Fast Food Nation is based on the book Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal by Eric Schlosser. Fast Food Nation is about Fast Food itself. And not only that it deals with American Societys Eating Habits dominated by easily and cheaply available burgers and other fast food. It also opens our eyes towards a possible fact that the fast food that is being eaten by large number of people could be contaminated. The Exploitation and Harassment being faced by the Illegal Immigrants is also the focus point of the movie.

Mickeys Fast food chain of restaurant based in Cody, Colorado is rumored to have cow dung in its highly popular "The Big One" burgers. To find out the truth behind these Rumors, Mickeys recently hired marketing executive Don Henderson (Greg Kinnear) is sent to Cody.

At Cody he meets Amber (Ashley Johnson) a bright and avid-eyed Mickeys counter worker. She is a school going teenager who lives with her single mother Cindy (Patricia Arquette). Amber acquaints Don with the machinery of Mickey right from its manufacturing unit to the slaughter house.

Inside the Slaughter house Sylvia (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Raul (Wilmer Valderrama) are two Mexican couples who have illegally entered the US to earn money.

Coco (Ana Claudia Talancon) is also one of the Mexican who works in the Butchery.

As they are Illegal Migrants they are paid poorly. Not only that they even face Harassment at the hands of their employers.

Don starts his investigation and looks at every aspect of the making of "The Big One" burgers. When he pays a visit to the meat processing plant he is shown that everything is Hygienic and Clean but when he meets the meat supplier to Mickeys, Harry (Bruce Willis) he realizes that there is more than what seems to the eye.

Don is shocked to know the truth that the burgers are indeed contaminated. But with so much of profit being earned and with so much bureaucracy being involved he finds his hands tied in spite of his conscience telling him to take action against the malpractices.

Fast Food Nation is Documentary type of a film with Provocative Portrayal of Corruption of Fast Food Big Wigs and The Malpractices in their Industries including the Exploitation, Harassment of Workers and Cruelty towards the Cows. And it raises the question-Is Fast Food Really Contaminated?
