About Movie: SILENT HOUSEis a uniquely unsettling horror thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen as Sarah, a young woman who finds herself sealed inside her family’s secluded lake house. With no contact to the outside world, and no way out, panic turns to terror as events become increasingly ominous in and around the house. The film was based on the Uruguayan pic La Casa Muda. The film follows Sarah (Olsen) who, with her father, moves into a house for a night in order to make repairs the next day and then put the property up for sale, but of course something happens as horror ensues. Silent House is a remake of a Uruguayan film of the same name that is based on true events that happened in the 1940s. The real hook though is that both films were filmed in one continuous 78-minute shot. The horror flick premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and was reportedly shot in one single continuous take..
Additional Notes: Based on the Uruguayan film La Casa Muda.
Movie Review:- Laura and her father Wilson settle down in an old farmhouse to make some repairs and update it prior to its sale. But after they spend the night there, things start to get strange. Laura hears a sound that gets louder and louder on the upper floor of the house. Wilson goes up to see what is going on while she remains downstairs, waiting for her father's return.
Direction, Dialogues and Music:- [Directors] Kentis and Lau have done a terrific job creating an atmosphere of tension, keeping the viewer on the edge never knowing what to expect or in fact, what exactly is going on.
Overall:- Silent House is smart about its scares as well as its delivery method.
