Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent's crimes in order to protect his reputation and is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman must return to face the villain Bane, who seeks to destroy Gotham, and discover the truth regarding the "enigmatic" Selina Kyle.

Additional Notes: Starting December 21, 2011, select IMAX theaters will play a 6-7 minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan was initially hesitant about returning to the series for a third time, but agreed to come back after developing a story with his brother and David Goyer that he felt would conclude the series on a satisfactory note.

Movie Review:- It's been eight years since Batman was last spotted on the streets of Gotham. For him, it's Mission Retirement. But now the city is under threat from terrorist Bane. An easy job, especially when the Dark Knight is keeping a close tab on all that's going on in his city.

Direction, Performance and Music:- The film works more as an emotional-action adventure. The scenes between Alfred and Bruce Wayne are heartbreaking. The dialogues however, are not as great as the performances. This film has some fine performances, from Gary Oldman as the exhausted yet perennially decent Commissioner Gordon to Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake. Tom Hardy who plays Bane is someone to look out for in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. He’s got a great character and he plays it with aplomb.

Overall:-  The Dark Knight Rises = Masterpiece.
