Pondicherry ministers get portfoliosPondicherry : The portfolios of the five ministers in the Congress government of Pondicherry were announced Wednesday.
Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will hold additional responsibilities of the departments of administration, home, revenue and excise, public works, planning and finance, co-operation, civil supplies and consumer affairs, science, technology and environment and town and country planning.
Senior minister V. Vaithilingam will hold the portfolios of industries, electricity, agriculture, forest, animal husbandry and economic and statistics.
E. Valsaraj will be the new health and family welfare services minister besides being charge of the port and housing department.
M.O.H.F. Shahjahan will be minister for education, art and culture, transport, information and technology and fisheries, while the portfolios of tourism, civil aviation, local administration, community development ad district rural agency has been given to Malladi Krishna Rao.
The departments of social welfare, Adi-Dravida welfare, women and child welfare, urban basic service and fire services will be under P. Angalan.
The ministers assumed office May 29.
