Lashker terrorists procured BSNL SIM cards: police
Jammu : Terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir are managing to procure mobile phone connections from state-run service providers as has come to light from the arrest of two militants, say police.
In a rare case of its kind, police arrested two people, including a Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, who had managed to get 60 mobile telephone connections from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The arrests were made in Rajouri Wednesday night.
Even though the BSNL adheres to strict investigation procedures before allotting SIM cards to consumers, the two managed to get the connections for terrorists active in the higher reaches of Jammu like Poonch and Rajouri.
This was revealed after Rajouri police arrested LeT terrorist Javed Mohammad with five BSNL SIM cards. He intended to hand over the SIM cards to an LeT commander for further distribution, police said.
