Haryana looks to own medical university
Chandigarh : The Haryana government Tuesday proposed a medical university in the state to provide better healthcare to its people.
Addressing the silver jubilee celebrations of the Government Dental College at Rohtak town in Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that setting up a medical university would help in providing better healthcare facilities for people of the state.
Hooda said that paucity of funds would not be allowed to come in the way of providing healthcare to everyone in Haryana. He added that the target was to make Haryana the No.1 state in the country in healthcare sector.
The chief minister said that the health budget had been enhanced by over 80 percent in the last two years. He added that 400 maternity huts had been set up in rural areas.
