London : Actor Ewan McGregor and his family have adopted a four-year-old girl from Mongolia.

According to contactmusic.com, McGregor and his wife Eve Mavrakis already have two biological daughters. A representative for McGregor said: "I can confirm Ewan McGregor and his wife Eve Mavrakis have adopted a girl, but cannot comment further."

The couple had first met on the sets of the British crime series "Kavanagh QC" and married in 1995.

McGregor and his best friend Charley Boorman had spent three months on a 32,000 km motorcycle trip for the TV series "Long Way Round". Mongolia was one of the stops featured on the journey.
