Washington : Anna Nicole Smith, the late Playboy pinup whose life was dogged by tragedy, apparently took 11 different medications that were prescribed to three people other than herself in her last weeks of life, an online report said.

E!Online quoted documents released by the Broward County, Florida, medical examiner's office Wednesday. A psychiatrist and Smith's friend, Dr Khristine Eroshevich wrote all of the prescriptions, the report said.

The report had not yet been posted online.

Smith's death in February was declared by the examiner last month as resulting from an accidental drug overdose. Medical examiner Joshua Perper described a lethal cocktail of vitamins, growth hormones, sedatives and painkillers, but did not give details of who had written the prescriptions.

The 39-year-old developed a high fever when she arrived at a resort on the Seminole Indian reservation in Florida, accompanied by her partner Howard K. Stern and a psychiatrist. Smith was prescribed high doses of antibiotics and a sleeping agent, chloral hydrate, which Perper blamed as the decisive agent that killed her.

Eight of the 11 prescriptions were written for Stern, one to Eroshevich herself and two to someone by the name of Alex Katz, E!Online wrote.

Smith's death came after a series of tragic occurrences in her private life and has triggered a battle for custody and paternity of her six-month-old baby Danielynn.

The child stands to inherit a $1.6-billion fortune from Smith's late husband, the 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Marshall Howard. Smith's claims on the estate were being contested by Howard's children from previous relationships.

Shortly after Danielynn's birth in September 2006, her 20-year-old son died of mysterious causes that are the current subject of an investigation.
