A person may have all the things name, fame, wealth but it doesn’t mean that he has happiness too. And a person who doesn‘t have enough money and all material comforts may stay happy in that condition. Happiness can’t be achieved by achieving all those materialistic things, that pleasure would be mortal. But it’s some thing that can be achieved, by knowing our self. We should treat every one with love and sympathy but with a desireless mind as desire is the root cause of anger and when we desire for some thing from some one, then unfulfillment of that desire leads to anger and in that case we can not be happy at all.
True happiness does not lie in materialism, but in spiritualism. We identity our self with the material world because we have forgotten the truth about who we are and who god is, its some thing like you have a transparent glass and when sunlight passes it’s clear, but when glass is coloured, you get coloured light and Krishna consciousness is the process by which we can slowly understand this truth.
Search for happiness is the eternal quest for every living entity. And the first step towards this is ‘shut your eyes to insults’ because taking revenge is not the only way. It’s because we must have done some sinful activity in the past and that is why we are insulted today. We should learn to forget such incidents, which have already occurred and just go with our regular activities. Just see the loving hand of god behind everything and tolerate inconveniences, because he is doing what is good for us. Don’t measure your happiness by failure of others.
People want happiness but they also want to very carefully preserve their material greed. But the truth is that happiness and material greed are incompatible. You have to make your choice. The first and foremost thing to understand is the most basic truth that we are in this world but not of this world. Those who are struggling to increase their enjoyment more and more are becoming more and more frustrated. Our mind is just like demon, it is very powerful, it can do hundreds of things very quickly and the moment we leave it unengaged, it starts thinking of unnecessary and undesirable things and fills us with anxieties and fears. And the only way to deal with the demon of mind is to chant holy names of lord Krishna, Allah, Christ to become completely peaceful and happy. And you will see the magic yourself.
