About Gingee Fort

Gingee Fort is situated in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, India. This fort is much popular for its Temples rather than fort itself. This fort was ranked as the "most secure fortress in India" by Shivaji. The fort was built at 800 feet height and protected by an 80 foot wide moat. It had an eight-storeyed Kalyana Mahal, granaries, prison cells, a military gymnasium and a temple.
