Takhat Sachkhand Sri Patna Sahib is a place where the tenth sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born in 1666. Besides being the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, Patna was also honored by visits from Guru Nanak Dev Ji as well as Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. In the beginning, a havelli of Salis Rai Jouri stoods here, who was a great devotee of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He was so much influenced by the teachings of the Guru that he converted his home into a dharamsala. Guru Teg Bahadur Ji also stayed at this place during his visit in patna. This Gurudwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This is one of only five Takhats or Seats of Authority of the Sikhs.
