Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple is situated at Mangadu, a suburban area of Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. This temple is believed to have been in existence during the peirod of Aadi Sankaracharya.
It depicts the goddess Parvati performing one of her innumerable penance's by standing on one leg over five fires with the rudrakshamala held in one hand and an expression of serene contentment on her face.
