About Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore is a national park and tiger reserve in Rajasthan state of western India. It is located in Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, about 130 km from Jaipur, which is also the nearest airport. The nearest town and railway station is at Sawai Madhopur, 11 km away.

The park is characterized by rocky plains, flat hilltops, gentle slopes and steep cliffs, and dominated by dry deciduous forests. Ranthambhore has rich flora a multitude of wild animals. It boasts of an appreciable number of tigers, leopards, the elusive caracals, striped hyenas, sloth bears, jungle cats, wild boars, crocodiles, besides other animals. Moreover, the reserve is rich in avifauna and boast of over 300 species of birds, both rare domestic and migratory birds. Enjoy your expedition with a tiger safari or the jeep safari.
