Preity Zinta belongs to Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Her original name was Preetam Singh Zinta. When Preity was thirteen, her father Durganand Zinta died in a car accident. Her mother was bedridden because of this incident. She has a degree in Criminal Psychology from Bombay University. She started her acting career from movie Dil Se and Soldier.
