apple sandwich spread
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 7 to 10 minutes
Serves / Makes : 1 cup( 250 ml)
Ingredients
Sour apples(granny smith)4 nos.
Cooking oil 1 tbsp.
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Chilli powder 2 to 3 tsp.
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
salt as per taste.
Methi seeds 3/4 tsp.
Mustard seeds 1 tsp.
Method
Clean and core the apples. If preferred peel them.Grate them.
Dry roast and powder the methi seeds and mix with asafoetida powder.Keep aside.
Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
When they splutter and the turmeric and then the grated apples.
Saute for a minute.
add salt and chilli powder and simmer till dry stirring once in a while.This takes about 5 minutes.
When the mixture starts leaving the surface of the pan add the methi powder mixture, stir and take the pan off heat.
Transfer to a sterilised bottle when the mixture is cooled down.
